OVERVIEW
The Braata Singers have had four concert seasons and numerous command performances including Toronto, NYC tri-state area, and awards at the prestigious World Choir Games in Cincinnati in 2012. Caribbean folk music has influenced the creation of many popular music genres from soca to ska, but very few groups perform the traditional songs today.
The Braata Singers are the foremost ambassadors of Jamaican and Caribbean folk culture in the Eastern United States and honor the musical history of the Caribbean with authentic choreography, sets, and costumes. They have participated in the World Choir Games in Cincinnati, Ohio, and though one of the smallest choirs in attendance, they received two silver and one bronze medals. Each year, the Singers perform at over 40 fundraisers, colleges, theaters, and senior centers.
The Braata Singers present a mesmerizing concert experience that pays tribute to the captivating cultures and rich musical traditions of Grenada, St Lucia, St Vincent & the Grenadines, & Haiti. Get ready to be swept away by an evening of soul-stirring melodies, infectious rhythms, and awe-inspiring performances.
